Employee engagement has been flat for a decade, despite spending on surveys rising into the billions. Clearly, we’re not getting the data we need from surveys. Could it be we’re asking the wrong questions? Or that we’re asking in the wrong way? This session shares an employee-centered approach to data collection and processing that skips surveys and instead asks employees to write open letters to their leaders. You’ll enact a three-part letter writing simulation, qualitative analysis to isolate common themes, and theme-driven strategic planning. This will help you advance your own thinking around what kind of data is truly useful and how the ways in which you gather and process data could increase trust and make strategy more precise.
Learning Objectives:
Use qualitative analysis to identify opportunities for improvement from voices at all levels.
Bring together leadership and employee perspectives for more robust and localized strategic plans.
Establish anonymity in ways that protect employees and support better decision making for executive leaders.
