In 2020, The Appraisal Institute was tasked with completely overhauling their Licensed Real Estate Appraiser training from an in-person experience to a virtual experience. The stakes were high! Learners had to master visual inspection, measurement, and observation from behind a screen. In this session, the speakers will share how they leveraged technologies to build an immersive, virtual world that resonated with learners and credentialing bodies. They will also note techniques for building skill—not just knowledge—in a virtual environment, as well as best practices for weaving synchronous mentor check-ins into an otherwise virtual experience, and how to make gains in diversity, accessibility, and future proofing with this new model.
